Tiere in Japan – Japan Makaken (Teil 1/6)

Veröffentlicht in: Fotoreisen | 0

Animals in Japan – Snow Monkeys (Part 1/6)

After my second photo trip to Japan I examined and edited most of the over 15500 photos I brought with me. Here now the first part and a small selection of the different animal species, which I could photograph in Japan.

On the first day we drove west from Tokyo to the Snow Monkeys in Nagano in Jikugudani Park, 300km away. The way from the parking lot to the park is about 1.6km long and very slippery, so it is recommended to put on spikes under your shoes to avoid slipping.

Here we had 2 overnight stays in an inconspicuous traditional hotel, which is already 400 years old and operated in the 25th generation. This time I had one of the 3 rooms with its own hot spring on the balcony, which I also used 2 times under the starry sky in the moonlight at -5°C and light snowfall.

On the last day in Nagano we still had time in the morning to take pictures in the village, which I did and totally surprised a few Snow Monkeys in the village caught them doing all kinds of nonsense…
